The Total Exposure Photographic Competition is being run by the Northbridge History Project as part of the City of Perth Northbridge Festival. The competition is open to anyone who owns a photograph of Northbridge from the 50s; 60s; 70s; 80s; 90s; or 00s. Submit your photograph for a chance to win! First prize $300; second prize $150; third prize $50.
We want photographs that depict daily live and special events, showcasing the diversity and complexity that is Northbridge.
Photographs must be submitted in a printed format, no larger than10 x 15 cm on A4 glossy photo paper. For more information, download the entry form or email history@dpc.wa.gov.au.
Closing date for submissions is 5:00 pm on Friday 16 October and winners will be invited to the opening night of the Northbridge Festival to be presented with their prize. Entries will be displayed at the Northbridge History Project Stall on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November.
As part of the City of Perth Northbridge Festival and in partnership with RTR FM 92.1, the Northbridge History Project is proud to present the 'Hidden Secrets of Northbridge' Podcast Walking Tour.
Explore the Northbridge you never knew existed! The Northbridge History Project and RTR FM will launch their ‘Hidden Secrets of Northbridge’ Podcast Walking Tour. During a walk of approximately two hours, you will be taken through the streets of Northbridge on a journey that will expose some of its fascinating histories, told through the authentic voices of the area.
This tour will weave a tapestry between what is and what was: from the original interconnected lake system that covered the area, to the buildings that were erected and demolished, to its current acclaim as Perth’s premier entertainment area. Much of the history of the area is unknown but is being captured by the Northbridge History Project through photographs, documents and oral histories. Join us as we discover what makes this place unique and complex.
Podcasts will be launched at the Northbridge Festival and available for download on the Northbridge History Project website.
