What is the Northbridge History Project?
The Northbridge History Project is a community history to discover and document the history of Northbridge. To find out more information, read the Northbridge History Project brochure, available on our publications page.

Who is undertaking the Northbridge History Project?
Several researchers will be involved in the project. Overall responsibility for it is with the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. A professional historian, Dr Felicity Morel-EdnieBrown, is directing the project. Click on the link to find out more about to who is doing the history.

Will I be paid for my contributions?
No. Contributions to the Project will be on a voluntary basis.

I have some old photographs that I think were taken in Northbridge. Can I give them to you?
The Northbridge History Project will not hold actual items; however, we would be happy to copy them and store the copies electronically for use in the history project. Please contact us so that we can discuss your photographs.

My grandparents lived in Northbridge. They have some wonderful stories of the 'old days'. Would you be able to use their stories?
We would certainly like the opportunity to talk to you about what your family might be able to tell of the area. Please contact us.

If I supply information how will it be used?
We will discuss with you the information that you have. If it is suitable for the Northbridge History Project, we will agree on how and where it is to be used. You are free to make a choice as to how your information will be used. We will only use your material in the manner to which you agree. Any information you give to the Northbridge History Project will be documented as belonging to you and the uses for which you permit us to use it will be put in writing at the time. I supplied information and it was not used. Was it not considered important?
The Northbridge History Project is undertaking the process of community consultation because we are hoping to discover information about elements of Northbridge's history that have not yet been researched. We envisage that we will receive a lot of information but it may not be possible to include it all in the activities that the Northbridge History Project undertakes. The information that you supplied, even if it was not used, does not mean that it was not important. Your information will help to inform the researchers and give them a broader understanding of the complexities and issues in the area.
